392 connecting rod question

I'm wanting to use a set of aftermarket 426 Hemi connecting rods in a 392 to match a set of pistons I already have. How concerned should I be about the spit holes, which are in a set of stock 392 rods. Do I need them or not? Anyone have any experience with swapped rods, or advice on using different rods?

I recently got new bearings for a 340. They didn't have the provision for the oil hole. I was told that the oiling hole is a relic from earlier days, when oiling was marginal,at best. Manufacturers have determined the oil hole is no longer necessary.

Do I need the spit holes which oil the thrust side of the cylinder and cam which are in a set of stock 392 rods(shoots oil out small hole in rod bearing going out the end of the big end),but don't exist on the 426.
