325 poly/hemi

Hi Guys,

Recently bought a nice untouched 57 dodge Coronet , 325 poly 4 bbl package ; probably just rebuild it , or maybe mostly just do heads,as i remember the 57's had steel shim head gaskets that rusted out and valve seal issues --but otherwise seem ok , durable as far as engines go. Cast iron TF .
thought crossed my mind to go hemi,as i am told hemi dodge 315/325 heads fit, but that ptobably means pistons and exhaust changes..= not worth it , first reaction. Mostly want a driver. If swapping engines woiuld go to 354 Chrysler...

Any thoughts on this? John

If you do decide to go with a 354, i'd be interested in the 325 poly. ty

There's an article on building a 315 on Webrodder (if it's up). Any high or low deck dodge hemi heads will fit, though sealing along the top on 241s are marginal. 315/325 hemi intakes will fit on your Poly.

If memory serves I think that any Hemi will bolt up, except for the flywheel.
And yes, you would need heads, pistons as well as exhaust manifolds etc. to convert.
In my opinion would be worth it of you are doing a rebuild anyway.
Of coarse you need to find rare parts though.
Maybe check with HH for better advise.
