In 1951 Chrysler pulled engines out of the production run and dyno tested them. None tested less than 190. This is according to an article at the time in Popular Science if my memory is correct. The 1951 through 1953 engines were all rated at 180.

Officially they were 180. According to some they were actually 200, but they were afraid listing that much HP (a lot back then) might scare off the elderly who were typical buyers of Chrysler branded cars. But the C/R advertised seems to have been a bit optimistic.
