Hemi Corvette

Well hello I'm new here. I bought a 65 Corvette roadster with a 392 Hemi with 2 AFB 4 bbl's, 4spd Chrysler transmission and an 8.75" Chrysler solid rear axle.

Just had it painted and changed the rear suspension to coil overs with disc brakes. I added a "392" emblem on the big block hood to screw with the Corvette guys who will look at me and think, "doesn't he realize that should be 396"?

I live in Oregon near Portland and am looking for a shop that would be familiar with Chrysler hot rod issues? Any help there???????

Thanks Kent

Well to me "hotrod issues" is non-stock as in Hemi's in non-Chrysler cars.
Few issues, found broken bolt on rear/transmission mount. Some other typical issues on this C2 series Corvette, like gas gage doesn't work, need to replace the radio antenna and Odometer also doesn't work.

This is my first Chrysler so that part of the car is a learning curve for me. I had a 65 Vette 50 years ago that was stolen so this is replacement for those memories.

My other toys are a 72 Porsche 911 and a Classic Mini Cooper.

Up on the HAMB, on the Hemi Tech Index, there's a sub section on machine shops that do hemis.

I may have seen that car before.
I think I might even know where it originated. (Sherwood by chance)?

Nope I picked it up in San Francisco last fall.

Interesting, There must be more than one.
Greys automotive in Tigard prepped my 392 for me.
As for "hot rod issues" I don't know, most of the guys I know do their own work.
Are you experiencing any issues now?
