The timing chain seems to have no "pointer" does the edge protruding over the edge of the harmonic balancer serve as the pointer? The other question, is the vacumn switch on the intake a normally closed switch? I bought a new one and am unable to get any continuity reading as it seems that to send a ground to the starter relay it should be normally closed

This is a 1958 392 Hemi sorry I forgot to state what I am working on.
