4 Speed conversion

Wanting to put a A833 4 speed behind my '58 392. I have a 727 with one of your adapter plates on it now. What bellhousing should I look for when doing this swap. I've heard both small block and big block....and what are the differences? What about the universal scattershields that are out there?

RS: Any small block bellhousing should work. We've used the #3515 73 aluminum factory bell and a Swap Meet Lakewood bell. Our adapter needs no modification. Nothing to drill, or tap or cut or go to the hardware store. Thanks,
Bob

I have two of the "TR Waters" set ups for the A-833.
They work perfectly.
I made a bracket to mount a slave cylinder to drive the original small block clutch arm.

Wilcap makes the best adapter for this conversion...been using one for a few years...Small block Mopar bellhousing is what to use...You have to cut the the shaft on the trans where it enters the pilot bearing because it is to long by about half inch...I used a Mcleod hydralic throwout bearing...>
