354 Engine timing

Hi, i'm having a little trouble with my stock 354 at the moment, just wanted to check the engine timing is about right and cross off my list. I've had the dizzy out and also noticed the ht leads were in a none hemi firing order. Can't seem to find any information any where. Any one have any idea ?

Thanks
Paul

Firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. Odd number cylinders on drivers side and even numbers on passenger side. Distribution rotates clockwise. Bales that hold distributor cap should be at back of carb, between 9 and 10 o'clock, and back of engine, between 3 and 4 o'clock. Number 1 cylinder plug wire should be on driver side of front bale and number 8 should be on passenger side of front bale. Initial timing lead is 4 degree BTDC.
