Oil Filter Adapters?

New questionNew to the site. Thanks for having me. I recently bought a 30 Plymouth truck with a 241 which was rebuilt about 10 years ago and had a new serial number stamped over the original one. Records indicate the engine originally was in a 54 truck. It has what appears to be an original remote oil filtering system. The filter canister is holding a large sock-like filtering element. The factory appearing adapter bolted to the block seems to route the oil in a manner where only oil pressure by-pass oil flows through the filter and then dumps back into the crankcase. It's been 55 years since I built a 241, so my memory is rusty. Does the original oil pump have a pressure relief? Can I convert over to one of the modern adapters without any problems? Does this engine need the "Full Flow Oil Block #20120"? Thanks.
