REAR ENGINE MOUNTINGS ON 331 EXTENDED BELL ENGINE
|
|
Can anyone tell me please how the rear of an extended block Chrysler 331 was mounted in a chassis ? I am mounting this engine in a "special" (1953 date) and cannot see any lugs or any other way of mounting the rear of the engine - other than making up some sort of fabrication. The front of the engine has the normal 331 lugs to put mountings on but there is nothing at the back. Were these engines only mounted at the back of the gearbox ? If so I would have thought that it would put a huge strain on the gearbox/engine flange due to the weight involved.
I have searched the web but can only find pictures of the front not the back. !
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you.
