Okay after numerous tries, I finally got on line to you. Your L8D6 is a 1958 315 cubic inch hemi. The L = 1958, 8 = 8 cylinder, D = conventional and 600 = 600 series truck. The 18799 is the serial number of the engine.
The D551 is a 270 cubic inch from a 1955 Dodge Coronet and Royal models. It was a poly engine, but if it has hemi heads, then someone put hemi heads on it. Hope this helps.
