The car was a steel sedan but when the youngest left home I could finally have a roadster so I sold the sedan body and bought a glass roadster, it was done outside my house as I don’t have a garage, another reason for the glass is I live 75 yards from the sea! The engine is a 56 330 DeSoto, with most parts from your good selves - 101/2 -1 comp Ross Racing pistons, Racer Brown reground cam, new lifters, adjustable push rods, new valves, polished and port matched heads, 1957 factory dual quad manifold, two 500 edlebrocks , Harley air cleaners, Joe Hunt mag meant for a 392 Chrysler. 2800 stall converter, B&M th350, Dana 44 rear end. Oh yeah it ran 104 mph at Pendine sands and high 13’s at just over 100mph on bias ply tyres. |
