These are current pictures of our family’s roadster. My dad, Ira, ran car from 1953 to 1958 at Bonneville and local drags in San Diego. Original 241 Dodge broke on nitro in 1955 so he upgraded to 270 and ran 151 mph on gas at the lakes. It has been run and never repaired since that year. I vintage raced it at Laguna Seca from 1994 until 1999 and was equal to lap times for the Jags and Ferraris in our class. Chet Herbert roller lifters and cam, 11:1 forged pistons, stock crank (no harmonic balancer!), Chrysler electronic ignition, runs right up to 6000 rpm! Not bad for 60 years old. I am now 66 and wish I ran so well! Just converted to a spin on oil filter with your adapter, a very nice part! |
