Presuming that your 5 speed has an over drive I suggest that either 3:55 or 3:73 would be OK depending on what your driving habits are and weight of the car, tire size etc.
I live out in the country and run a 3:50 gear in a very light car with over drive and 3:91 in my heavy car, also overdrive.
A 3:73 might be a good compromise.
I might add that mine are both 392 Chryslers, and the trannies are the A-833 4 speed manual overdrives. Your 315? might not run as strong.
A higher ratio will put a strain on your light to light driving especially if your pick up weighs very much. 3:23s were to tall for my heavy car.
