Murbas: Sounds like you're running too fat. According to the calculations I use, your 338 at 6,000 rpm will wants 587 cfm. Try a smaller carb and see if that fixes it. Have fun, Bob

> i have a 331 hemi bored .040 over with 9 to 1 compression ratio, cam is an isky .485 lift 232 duration, 108 degree seperation, with dual holley 450cfm 4bbl's . headers are fenderwell exit with 3" collectors and baffles. car has a street/strip turbo 400 with a 3000 stall converter and 4.11 posi rear with 30" tall tires. i get backfiring occurring on ocasion under hard acceleration. can any help me with this problem ?
